You were invited here as part of a very special team with an important goal - to help Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Rochester reach one more child this year. This page makes it simple for you to join the effort for just $19.81. This sheet tells you what you need to know to get started now. Impact: Among the many benefits to the children BBBS reaches:
- 99% avoid substance abuse
- 94% perform well in school
- 96% avoid early parenting HOWEVER:
- BBBS reaches only a fraction of the children who could benefit
- 100+ kids are on the Hold List - waiting up to one year until more support is found
Cost Efficient: Two simple facts:
- The benefits we bring require $1,000 dollars per child, per year
- Forbes awarded BBBS its "Gold Star" for efficiency and impact
Once recruited, trained, and with continued support, "Bigs" see their "Littles" weekly - representing a program cost of just $19.81 per week. (FAQ: what does $19.81 support?)
Those who provide that $19.81 are called "Big Bennys" (Benefactors).
The "Big Builder" Goal: The person or group who invited you to this page is working hard to gather support to reach one more child this year: $1,000. Here's how that works:
- Our Big Benny program neatly divides a year into 52 parts to make it affordable.
- A Big Builder puts it back together again - finding donations of $19.81 to cover each of the 52 weeks of the year
- Each individual Big Builder makes a personal donation to cover several weeks themselves before they ask you...
- Can you cover 1 week per year -- 1 week per month -- something in between?
