Tina Christensen
Executive Director

Tina has been with Big Brothers Big Sisters for over 10 years. Prior to the Executive Director position she was the Program Director and grant writer. Tina is responsible for the creation of the peer program and is currently working with their national organization to develop a model of fidelity for this population. She is also a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s National Leadership Council’s Research Committee. Prior to coming to Big Brothers Big Sisters she worked in family services and parenting education; working predominately in intervention with families.

Andrea Brown
Program Coordinator

Andrea has been with Big Brothers Big Sisters for 11 years. Andrea is responsible for managing community based and school based program caseloads. Andrea also co-facilitates the U of R Program, and the STEM Mentoring Program. Andrea has worked with children and families for more than 20 years in the Rochester area with Hillside Children’s Center, the Rochester City School District and Sojourner House. Andrea is a native Rochesterian. She has earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Human Services from Monroe Community College and a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from SUNY Brockport.

Robin Douglas
School Based Match Coordinator

Robin is a recent addition to the team at Big Brothers Big Sisters. During her senior internship as Family Coordinator while studying at Roberts Wesleyan College, Robin was "bit by the BBBS bug" to serve young people through a quality mentoring program. Serving in Ontario and Wayne County schools, Robin coordinates and strengthens school-based matches and provides oversight and direction to volunteers and site facilitators. Robin's experience with young people includes instruction in typing, advising the high school yearbook student team, and conducting youth programs in public libraries.

Merrie Franklin
Match Support Specialist

Merrie joined Big Brothers Big Sisters as a match support specialist in November of 2010. Merrie’s role is to provide support and guidance to help keep match relationships healthy and happy, so that being a Little or a Big is a positive experience for children and volunteers. Merrie helps to organize small and large group events and activities for matches, allowing them the chance to socialize with one another and enjoy opportunities in the community.

Shahanna King
Office Manager

Shahanna has been with Big Brothers Big Sisters since November of 2009. As Office Manager, Shahanna is responsible for parent and volunteer contact with the agency. She also supports the Operations Director with the General Operations and IT functions of the agency. Shahanna’s previous positions included Home Health Aide and Administrative Assistant. A graduate from Hilton Central High School, she is always aware of the wonder a positive mentor can be for a child.

Tracey Lewis
Associate Director for School Based Services

Tracey joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters team in 2005. She has experience in Community Based Programs, and has specialized in School Based Mentoring. Her passion for working with children and schools in our communities has propelled her to lead the High Schools Demonstration Project and work closely with The National Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization. Tracey is responsible for overseeing all School Based Programs and works to implement best practices.

Heather Mills

Heather has been with Big Brothers Big Sisters for over 6 years. She began her career with the agency as a college intern. Heather is responsible for overseeing all community based programing – adults matched one to one with youth in our communities. She works to build strong collaborative partners to help us reach youth within our cities and our most rural areas. Heather is a graduate of Keuka College with a background in experiential education and training.

Karin joined Big Brothers Big Sisters in June. An experienced professional, she is responsible for the creation, coordination and implementation of fundraising special events and overall development of resources.
